Marketplace & Waitlist Policy
Last updated: November 22, 2025
Rules for running all-or-nothing pre-sale campaigns, fulfilling commitments, and protecting supporters.
All-or-Nothing Commitments
Pre-sale campaigns on Akangbou operate as waitlists. Supporters authorize cards today, but funds are only captured if the seat goal is reached before the deadline.
- Creators must publish seat goals, pricing, estimated ship dates, and what constitutes “delivery.”
- Supporters can cancel their waitlist spot any time before capture from /marketplace/waitlist.
- Creators cannot access funds until capture occurs and compliance checks pass.
Creator Obligations
Transparency
- Provide manufacturing, certification, or supply-chain details that prove the project is feasible.
- Share monthly progress updates when campaigns run longer than 30 days.
- Notify supporters immediately if timelines slip or specs change.
Fulfillment
- Ship products or activate services within the delivery window shown on the campaign.
- Mark orders as fulfilled inside Akangbou and upload tracking numbers where applicable.
- Retain proof of delivery for at least 12 months for dispute resolution.
Supporter Expectations
- Ensure payment methods remain valid until the campaign deadline—failed captures may forfeit your spot.
- Use the built-in messaging tools to ask creators clarifying questions rather than publishing personal contact details.
- Report suspected misrepresentation to marketplace@akangbou.com. We can pause funding while we investigate.
Compliance & Prohibited Goods
- No weapons, illicit substances, financial products, or medical devices requiring regulatory approval.
- Creators must comply with export controls and disclose any shipping restrictions.
- Campaigns raising capital or selling securities require written approval and may be rejected.
Waitlist & Notification Automation
Akangbou automatically notifies supporters when their payment is authorized, captured, or released. Creators must not disable these notices or substitute off-platform payment flows.
Operating Principles
All-or-nothing waitlists
Cards are authorized as soon as someone reserves a seat, but we only capture payment if the campaign hits its goal before the deadline.
Transparent momentum
Leaderboard ranking blends overall waitlist progress with daily velocity and recency so communities can see which launches are heating up.
Controlled operations
A dedicated admin control room governs copy, pricing, milestones, deadlines, and all fulfillment workflows once the bar is met.
Launch Workflow
1. Draft & review
Marketing uploads the creative, operations defines stretch milestones, and finance configures the pre-authorization window before anything goes live.
2. Launch to marketplace
Approved campaigns appear on the marketplace leaderboard with live progress indicators, referral links, and notifications for watchers.
3. Fulfill & onboard
Once the goal is reached, admins flip the campaign to fulfillment, capture payments, and trigger the onboarding playbooks.
Admin-only creation
Only verified Akangbou admins can create, edit, or launch marketplace campaigns via the /admin/marketplace console.
- Invited admins authenticate with SSO and step-up MFA.
- Attempts to POST from non-admin accounts return 403 errors.
- Audit logs capture every campaign mutation (drafting, launch, pause, fulfillment).
Approval workflow
Each campaign must pass an internal checklist before appearing to customers. Drafts remain invisible until they clear legal, finance, and operations gates.
- Finance signs off pricing, seat inventory, and hold amounts.
- Operations verifies milestone definitions and fulfillment readiness.
- Legal approves copy, guarantees, and refund disclosures.
Customer-facing visibility
Customers only see live or scheduled campaigns that cleared review. Admin-only notes, cost structures, and remediation guides stay inside the policy center.
- Live leaderboard highlights trending live campaigns.
- Scheduled launches display high-level teasers without internal instructions.
- Fulfilled campaigns remain as proof points without exposing playbooks.
