Copyright & DMCA Policy

Overview

Akangbou respects intellectual property rights and expects users to do the same. We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §512) and remove or disable access to infringing material.

Filing a Takedown Notice

Your notice must include:

• Your physical or electronic signature.
• Identification of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed (or a representative list if there are several).
• Identification of the material you claim is infringing and where it is on Akangbou (for example, the post or profile URL).
• Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.

Counter-Notice

If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the designated agent including: your signature; identification of the removed material and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address, and phone number; and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the U.S., any district where Akangbou may be found) and will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice. We may restore the material in 10–14 business days unless the complainant tells us they have filed a court action.

Repeat Infringer Policy

• We record each valid notice against the account that posted the material.
• Accounts that receive multiple valid notices (generally three within 12 months) are terminated, and we may terminate sooner for egregious infringement.
• Counter-notices that result in restored material are taken into account.

Misrepresentations

Under 17 U.S.C. §512(f), anyone who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages. Consider fair use before sending a notice.

Other Reports

For trademark, privacy, or other content concerns, use the “Report” option on the content or email support. These are handled under our Terms and Community Guidelines rather than the DMCA process.
