Creating Your Contractor Profile
Follow these steps to set up your professional presence.
Access Profile Creation
Start the contractor profile setup process.
- Log in to your Akangbou account
- Click your profile icon in the top right
- Select "Create Professional Page" from the dropdown
- Or visit /contractor/create directly
Choose Your Profile Type
Select the category that best describes your business.
- Contractor - General contracting services
- Builder - New construction and development
- Developer - Real estate development
- General Contractor - Multi-trade coordination
- Specialty Contractor - Specific trade (electrical, plumbing, etc.)
Add Business Information
Fill out your core business details.
- Business name (or your name if sole proprietor)
- Business description (2-3 paragraphs about your services)
- Years in business
- Number of employees
- Service areas (cities, counties, or radius)
Note: Be specific about your service areas to appear in relevant searches.
Upload Photos and Logo
Visual elements make your profile stand out.
- Upload a professional logo or business photo
- Add a cover photo showcasing your best work
- Make sure images are high quality (minimum 1200px wide for cover)
Add Licenses and Certifications
Build trust with verified credentials.
- Enter your contractor license number
- Add any relevant certifications (OSHA, LEED, etc.)
- Upload insurance documentation
- Include bonding information if applicable
Note: Verified credentials significantly increase client trust and inquiries.
Set Up Services and Pricing
