Events & Ticketing Policy
Last updated: November 22, 2025
Ground rules for how organizers set up reservation-based events and how attendees secure, manage, and use their tickets.
Reservation Lifecycle
- All paid reservations use manual capture. Cards are authorized at checkout and only captured once the ticket goal is met.
- Free events immediately mark reservations as captured to confirm attendance counts.
- Attendees can manage or cancel reservations from /events/my-events or via the confirmation email.
Organizer Responsibilities
- Publish accurate event details (venue, dates, format, capacity) and update them promptly when plans change.
- Set realistic ticket goals and deadlines—Akangbou automatically closes reservations once the deadline passes.
- Send agenda, safety, and accessibility details no later than 48 hours before the event.
- Maintain attendance logs to resolve disputes or verify capture eligibility.
Attendee Commitments
- Only reserve the number of tickets you plan to use. No-reserve speculation or resale is prohibited.
- Respect organizer refund windows. After capture, refunds are granted at the organizer’s discretion unless the event is canceled.
- Do not share join links or venue credentials without organizer permission.
Compliance & Safety
- Live events must comply with local permitting, occupancy, and insurance requirements.
- Virtual events must disclose any third-party platforms used (Zoom, Teams, custom streams) so attendees can review their policies.
- Report emergencies or unsafe conditions to events@akangbou.com—our team can pause ticketing or notify attendees on your behalf.
Communication Standards
Use Akangbou messaging or email notifications to share timely updates. Event reminders automatically send 24 hours prior, but organizers remain responsible for last-minute changes. Major schedule shifts should trigger both push and email alerts.
